Tanesha Jefferson

Tanesha J. could be described be two very simple words. Vivacious and harmonious. When you hear her music, you’ll be very collected and cool, yet driven. Growing up not only in a musical home, but in the Church of God in Christ afforded Tanesha the opportunity to hear some of the churches finest singers and musicians. It was there that she was grounded not only musically, but spiritually and socially.

In 2006, Tanesha took her first shot at recording and hit the studio with one of Gospel music most sought out musicians, Phillip Feaster. Teaming up with Phillip, Tanesha created her first two original compositions, Sing Praise and Here I Am.

In 2007 Tanesha went on to perform and gain exposure on Inspiration Sensation, hosted and produced by Pastor Dan Willis. While on Inspiration Sensation Tanesha met and partnered up with Marqus Curtis. Working with Marqus was one of the best moves that Tanesha had made and she would agree, stating that working with Marqus offered her the chance to explore music in ways that she had never imagined.

This same year, Tanesha was connected with and began singing background vocals for EMI recording artists, Vashawn Mitchell and Aaron Sledge.

Since that time Tanesha has expanded, doing recording sessions for Kevin Vasser, Anita Wilson of Donald Lawrence and Company, and Vashawn Mitchell, who’s latest album Triumphant she was featured on. She has also written for Chicago’s very own Shocking Truth and Guitarist, Joey Woolfalk.

Tanesha has appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel and Next Generation and on TBN’s Praise the Lord.

“Beautiful music can heal and set free…I can change the world with a simple song”. This is what Tanesha lives by, and she will not go unnoticed. Her vow is to make music that points people to Jesus Christ and will not stop until this task is complete.
